Owner Occupied Home Repair
The PathStone Home Rehabilitation and Energy Services staff provides housing rehabilitation services for existing homeowners.
Using resources from state, federal and other funders, PathStone provides grants and loans to low and moderate income homeowners in Genesee, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans and Wayne counties for needed improvements and repairs. After acceptance into the program, a home is inspected and tested to determine needed repairs and identify health hazards. Improvements focus on lead paint hazard reduction, roofs, plumbing, electric, code violations, structural issues, well, septic and energy conservation measures. Owners must occupy the residence for one year prior to applying for most programs and agree to live in the home for 5 to 10 years depending on funding levels.
Typical repairs include:
- Roof replacement.
- Bathroom replacement.
- Interior and exterior painting for lead stabilization.
- Upgrades to heating, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Septic system replacement
