PathStone Home Rehabilitation & Energy Services programs have evolved and expanded from 1970’s migrant farmworker housing repair to a multi-faceted line of business serving the needs of hundreds of lower income families annually across our service area.
In 1991, PathStone began serving as the Weatherization Assistance Program grantee for Monroe County, outside the City of Rochester. This program continues to be a mainstay of our service to homeowners.
Since the mid-1990’s, we have successfully secured and administered numerous state grants for owner-occupied home rehabilitation and to assist first-time home buyers with essential repairs to their homes, helping to create and preserve affordable homeownership across the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.
Beginning in 2010, PathStone expanded our energy service programming as a Constituency- Based Organization promoting home energy savings for low- to moderate income homeowners under contract with the NYS Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA).
Many of our home rehabilitation grants are secured via Rural Housing Opportunities Corporation, a PathStone affiliate. This entity is a NYS Rural Preservation Company and a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), enabling it to leverage state and federal housing funds for the benefit of the families and communities we serve.
We continue to aggressively pursue all available funding resources to improve the quality, affordability and safety of homes for lower income households, as well as providing information and referral to other types of affordable housing resources in the community.
